the time i left wadi rum

The last morning Abu Laith and the kids drove me back to the tourist camp where we were being picked up. I said a somewhat emotional goodbye to Um Laith at the house. On the way, Abu Laith stopped by some guys with camels and had me get on one for a picture, which was kindof hilarious. So now I have a picture of me on a camel that I never actually road anywhere. The night before, I had asked for an address to write letters to, but Abu Laith hadn't known it. On the way out, we stopped at some sort of townhall/post office and got an address from someone where I could write my family. I was the first one at the camp, and waited as friends trickled in, listening to their stories, many of them vary different from mine. We road to Aqaba in a van and took a big bus from there to Amman, which was a shame because we loved the ride in the truckbed to Wadi Rum in the first place. The bus played movies, which I hated because they made me ill, but the second one was Arabic and featured a belly-dancing midget early on that unfortunately failed to make later appearances. We never did get to see the end.
