This is not my original journal, because in the desert I had to write in a physical notebook, with pencil and pen. I have made a difficult decision not to pristinely transcribe all 27 pages digitally in an effort to curb my neurotic obsession with record. In an effort to curb my neurotic obsession with writing, I kept my journal from becoming an organized, eloquent document in the first place. So, this is not my journal. This is a retelling shortly after the fact, in heavy consultation with my original journal.
