oh the airplanes...

Here I am in Amman! That flight was ridiculously long, although my back held up pretty well, actually. Which is kindof amazing. Charles de Gaulle is pretty ridiculous; it actually amused me a great deal. The only bummer is that my backpack broke. Yeah, that's my nice new super awesome backpack, which now only has one shoulder strap. It sucks because I just sounds whiny, since no one gets how important the right kind of backpack is to my general functioning. I really don't know what I'm going to do about it. But I guess I'll figure something out. Now that the venting's out of the way, I can get around to saying that I really like the people, although obviously I won't go into detail, because I don't talk about people that way on blogs. But yes, they're cool. I can't seem to remember a word of Arabic, which is bizarre. Anyway, there really isn't much to report, since we came straight from the airport to the hotel where we'll be staying a few days. It's not super nice but it's just fine...except for the fact that the heater in our room is broken, but that's a temporary hardship and thus not a big deal. I pretty much just had about 5 hours of sleep in the past 48 hours, but I'm in good spirits. It's weird, this post makes me sound miserable, but I'm actually doing pretty well.
